Decide: #10 Decide to Explore

It’s easy to think, to plan, to contemplate and just…do nothing. Often there exists a gap between the thinking and planning, to the actual action of doing and creating. The gap is where we make choices, we decide. And often, we spend ages in that space just cruising along.

So, decide.

Decide: #10 Decide to Explore
Little kids explore things wholeheartedly, with their eyes, fingers, ears and sometimes mouth. They explore, not to collect more information and answers, but to stay in the space of questioning.
I like that definition of exploration. It allows for experience, wholeheartedness, the expansion of something new & opening of new doors.
Another way of saying, choose to stay in the awe of wonder.

This marks the end of the second series. For more of the series, please refer here.

Author’s note:
I’ve been exposed recently to some people with big dreams, the ability to stretch the mind, and the unmistakeable internal calling of wanting to develop this blog in a few directions. So I’ve taken down ideas of what I want to write, mull over it a little and will be starting on those next, instead of a 3rd series. And I can’t wait!

Decide: #6 Decide to Leap

It’s easy to think, to plan, to contemplate and just…do nothing. Often there exists a gap between the thinking and planning, to the actual action of doing and creating. The gap is where we make choices, we decide. And often, we spend ages in that space just cruising along.

So, decide.

Decide: #6 Decide to Leap
If you find yourself peering over the edge, waiting for someone to decide if you should walk away or fly, my guess if you’ve been waiting for a long time.
The leap of faith is often taken in one single step, though it makes the difference between familiar ground and the boundless sky.
And if you are not finding yourself at the edge having to make the decision to leap, chances are you’ve been playing on safe ground, wondering where all the sky is.

Decide: #3 Decide to Learn

It’s easy to think, to plan, to contemplate and just…do nothing. Often there exists a gap between the thinking and planning, to the actual action of doing and creating. The gap is where we make choices, we decide. And often, we spend ages in that space just cruising along.

So, decide.

This post came late, at a weekend that I was completely floored by a flu, cough, sinus headache and nausea. It’s interesting how a common cold can morph into something that brought me to a standstill. So I looked at what my body could possibly be telling me.

Decide: #3 Decide to Rest
Resting means giving myself time to evaluate or ‘switch off’, in this case. To stop constantly chewing on issues in my head. It required asking for support when I couldn’t do it all alone. More importantly, it required me to trust my own body to heal in its own time.
Being a go-getter doesn’t mean having to be on the go all the time. It means, also proactively, taking rest breaks to take stock of everything.
Whatever time you get to read this post, is likely an overdue reminder for you. It is no coincidence. So, decide.

Making Mornings Series: #9 Making Mornings Joyful

This grew out of a series to be posted on a board. It served as a reminder for me to intentionally create the mornings I want, in many different ways and being.
By this stage, those who live in their head a lot (like me) start to get confused. At #9 of the series, how can one person’s morning take so many forms?
The beauty is in understanding the possibilities are endless. You can take one and make it your own for 30 days (somewhat to ingrain a habit in a way of being). Or you can mix a few up and create your own combination of morning (because really, is there any other type of morning other your own for yourself?). Or you can see what serves you for that day or week and take on that one way of Making Mornings accordingly.
I haven’t got it all done to making it all effortless, but I figured along the way that the next element was quite crucial.

Making Mornings Series: #9 Making Mornings Joyful
Consider being in the state of joy and yet treating something with the utmost importance, while intending for the most effective result. Consider that it doesn’t need the furrowed brow, intense look or serious attitude.
Seriously considering?
Stop.
Mornings are joyful because we don’t overthink it. Joyfulness happens in the heart, out of the head. Maybe big dreams happen with or without joy, but it sure is easier with joy.
